Leon Lennon

This is Leon 'Lennon". I got him from a shelter in St. Ignace which is 250 miles from here and about two years ago. When I looked on petfinder.com, they said the puppies were Labrador Boxer mixed. And it seemed right, they looked like fluffy Boxers in the pictures. When we got there, they told us we misunderstood, they are German Shepherd and Lab, and when I was at summer camp a few years back, I fell in love with the camp director’s German Shepherd Dog. I soon realized how powerful and smart these dogs are, and after that, I always wanted one. But soon after that, when I went down to Kansas for Christmas, my friends (pretty much dog experts) said he was German Shepherd Great Dane! Who knew! He is about 90 pounds and the best dog I have ever known.
I've been training him since he was a puppy, and with his even temper and calm altitude, it was easy. And I am looking to get him certified therapy dog. I love helping people, and helping is one of the many reasons why I want to become a Police Officer or K-9 Unit.

His birthday is March 25th.

And this is Leon at 8 weeks old :) Just a BUCKET OF CUTENESS

As soon as we got Leon, originally Lennon like the Beatles (but I didn't like it), we went to the Upper Peninsula to visit my sister "Fry" (nickname). Fry and her friend Ann were already impressed with Leon's calmness for a puppy. And after the weekend up there, Leon knew sit, lay down, and come (working on stay). Ann, the website manager for upaws.org wrote a story about good pet owners with Leon's picture at the top! I was very proud of my puppy!
And ever since I got Leon, we have been going to the Upper Peninsula a few times a year.

He loves riding in cars. Sits in the front sit like a person :)

Leon is a very serious dog at times, always looking out the window for dangers or barking at my father as he enters the house... but I still like to mess with Leon sometimes.

He liked the sunglasses, but he couldn't be more annoyed with the hat.
Leon is a very smart dog. He knows a number of commands, by hand signals or by just voice. That may impress other people, but what I find even more amazing is he love towards others animals.

All of Leon's friends he have shared his home with.

Kimo

Jazz

Leon and Tucker

Leon, Tucker and Blue

Leon and Blue

Ruin

Clyde (crush haha he's okay)

Harley (Mmmmmmm)

Clay (playing with Clyde under the couch)

And pretty much every single dog at this parade :)

I can tell he finds me to be a odd parent, always making noises that shouldn't be made in his ears. Calling him a puppers and teaching him tricks. But I love him so.
